Born this way

I just have to put this out there; I love Lady Gaga! Her new song inspired me to do a layout about myself (yes I know, another one) and what makes me the way that I am.

I bought a new Cricut cartridge "Paper Lace" and I am totally in love with it. The circle flower and fleur de lis were cut out with it. Again I used liquid pearls, which I love the look of. I don't have much to say about this layout, it was pretty simple to make, but I love how it looks.

Since this LO is about me, I thought I'd share some random facts about myself:

  • I'm stubborn.
  • I like to take pictures of myself (kind of obvious, I know).
  • Every night when I'm cooking supper, I have a dance party.
  • I love baking.
  • I treat my dog better than most humans.
  • I like my dog more than most humans.
  • I love watching movies with the subtitles on.
  • The beach is my favorite place.
  • I hate cleaning.
  • Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.
  • I'm pretty lazy, but I'll push myself when I need to.
  • I'm a horrible singer.
  • I'm obsessed with the Calgary Flames.
  • I'm a water waster, I stay in the shower until the hot water runs out.
  • I'm training for my first half-marathon and I'm totally freaked out about it.
I hope you like what makes me, me!

Have a good weekend!

My 2 new fave layouts and more!

Hello! I've been working evening shift all week so I haven't done any scrapping. So here's some layouts and a card that I made last weekend.

It was my friend's wedding shower last weekend and I made this card for her. It was pretty simple and easy to make. I cut out the frame with my cricut - Cindy Loo cartridge. The stamp I borrowed from a coworker and it's from Stamp it up. I used some stickles and liquid pearls around the frames and topped it off with a prima flower!

Here's my #1 fave LO at the moment! I love love love Sassafras paper! I think it's just my style! I loved cutting out the flowers from another piece of paper to add a little dimension to the LO. Using liquid pearls is one of my new fave techniques and I'm using it on a lot of layouts right now. I did lots of punching too. I love the crocheted flower from prima. I wish I knew how to crochet, because I would make tons of these for my layouts!
Here's another view of the layout:

Here's my new fave LO #2! I love the look of cutting out the circles and filling the empty space with liquid pearls. Overall it's a pretty simple layout with minimal embellishments, but I think the cut outs add something special.

And my last layout to show you is another simple one. I love the Sassafras paper, I however don't like the LO and I don't know why. I think I need different embellishments. Oh well maybe I'll come back to it someday and fix it.
Well its almost time to get ready for work :( Boooooo!

Have a great weekend!

Wordless Wednesday

Beautiful Dominican sunset!

It's been a while...

I know, it's been a while since I've blogged. It's been a busy last couple of months. We got to go to the Heritage Classic, outdoor hockey game. The Flames beat the Canadiens so we were so excited! It was so cold though! It was -20 degrees outside! After the game I worked 9 days in a row and then I went to the Dominican Republic! It was so amazing! I had so much fun! I loved soaking up the sun and meeting new people.

I think I took about 300 pictures when I was on vacation. I loved all the palm trees and the color of the ocean. I ordered 3 collages from Walmart so that I can scrap lots of pics on one page. Which is what I did on the first layout I made. I wanted it to be clean and simple with fun, bright colors. I wanted to scrap about what I did on a typical day in the Dominican. I included pictures of what I did every day and I did some journaling, which is hard to see, which is ok because it's only for me to see.

The second layout I did I wanted to have the same look as the first. I wanted it colorful and simple. It's about the giant mug that my boyfriend bought me for my trip. My "Bubba" mug was quite the talk around the resort. I think people were just jealous that they didn't think of bringing a 1.5 litre mug with them! It sure did save me lots of trips to the bar!

So far these are all the layouts that I've finished of my trip. I'm hoping to get more scrapping done during the week. Actually I'd love to do some tonight, but the Flames game is on. I think it'll be a good game too, since the Flames are fighting so hard to get a playoff spot.

Have a good night!
