Only 3 more sleeps!!

Even though it's getting close to Christmas I've been able to get a little bit of scrapping done. I'm starting to get to the point that none of the pictures I have printed out are inspiring me to do layouts. I think I need to start doing some more interesting things, I can only do so many layouts of Maddie. She's pretty cute and has plenty of personality but I've done a million layouts with just her on them. This is my newest layout of her. Brad was trying to take her picture one night to put in our Christmas cards and this one turned out so hilarious that we chose to put it in our cards. She looks so sassy in this picture. I used up some old scraps and I turned a paper that I didn't like and then I used glimmer mist on it for the background. I like all the bling on the page.
This month I started following a challenge blog to help me with some inspiration. It's called http://stucksketches.ning.com/ . They post 2 sketches of layouts a month on their website. So far it's been pretty good. I posted this Football layout on it and even though I don't think it's one of my best layouts, it's been getting a lot of positive feedback. It's always nice to see that other people like your work.
This is the layout I made for the newest challenge. I really wanted to put lots of pictures on the page, but I didn't want them to take up the whole page. I had to crop and shrink them and then I printed them off my printer. I need to find another way to do this. I really like the look of having lots of pics on a page and I always have lots of pics to scrap. I wonder if there's some way I can send my pics to walmart and have them print out small. Anyways I used some paint on this layout and I think it looks awesome. I cut the key out of the paper and I put that foam stuff under it that makes it raised off the page and I think it looks cool.
My secret is that sometimes I like dogs more than humans. Who doesn't like dogs anyways? Everyday when I come home from a bad day at work, I see Miss Maddie waiting at the door for me and it puts a smile on my face and I forget about how bad my day was. Even when she's bad, I can't help but love her because she is such a great dog and so lovable. I'm so lucky to have such a great dog that can make me smile by just looking at her.

Merry Christmas!

Soooo tired!

I'm working night shift this week, which is so hard for me because sleeping is one of my favorite things to do and I'm not getting more than 3 hours at a time. I can't wait until I get a full night of sleep again.
I haven't done too much scrapping lately. This layout of Maddie is all I've done. I really like doodling around the edge of the page. I think it looks really fun. I really like the color of the paper, it's do vibrant like Maddie. It took a long time to cut out all the circles, but I like how It turned out.
I'm all done my Christmas cards. It took forever! I think I'll just buy cards next year or start making them earlier. The cricut did all the work, but I did a lot of pasting. They cost more to make then buy too, but I think they'll be appreciated.
Brad wants to take some family Christmas pictures tonight to send in our cards. I'm looking like crap though with only 3 hours of sleep. Why do I have to feel so useless when I work nights? Even writing this blog feels like a chore. Maybe I should go back to sleep soon...

Almost Christmas!

Why does the week feel so long and the weekend not long enough?? I managed to get some scrapbooking done this week. Of course I did more Maddie related pages. I used lots of glimmer mist again...I'm still loving it.
This page I cut out some circles with my cricut and used them to mask the glimmer mist. I think it looks pretty cool. I love the font I used for this title. It's called Loop Dee Loo, which is perfect. Maddie is such a doop dee doo. She moves at her own pace, and she feels the need to sniff everything and eat everything off the ground. She's just curious about the world around her. I really like this layout, but the part I like the least is my journaling. My writing is so messy!
So I came up with the crazy idea to hand make all my christmas cards this year. I bought the "Joys of the Season" cartridge for my cricut last night and I think I can make some really nice cards with it. I don't think it's going to take too long to make 25-30 cards, but I could be very wrong about that. I'll keep you posted on that!! I guess I better get started!

Long week

So another long week just passed. I was cranky for most of it. I started counting my calories on Monday, so I spent most of the week starving. Eating healthy is hard! My stomach must have started to shrink a little though because we went out for all you can eat meat on friday night for Brad's b-day and I couldn't eat as much as a normally would have. I'll stick with it and maybe I can loose that 7lbs I gained since the summer.

Maddie was very bad last week. On Sunday I gave her a bath and then I changed some bedding and put her dog blanket on the spare bed for her to lay on and she jumped up and peed on it! I was soooooo mad at her. I had a rage blackout, I have no idea if I threw her off the bed or if she jumped off it. But she knew she was in trouble, she moped around the house for the rest of the day. It's so hard having a cute dog, because it's hard to stay mad at them. I wouldn't let her on the spare bed for the rest of Sunday, but on Monday she jumped up without me noticing and she looked so cute sleeping I just had to let her stay. I took this pic of her this morning looking up at me. Isn't she adorable??
I only got around to making one scrapbook layout this week. I'm working on another right now but it's not even close to being done. This is a page I did for my brother and Maddie. They just adore each other. Alex came out to visit in April when she was still a puppy and she just loved him so much. She moped around for days after he left. When we went home to visit this summer, she remembered him! Alex took her for an evening and brought her to see the people at his work because he was so proud of her! I used lots of glimmer mist and I cut out the title with my cricut. I think it turned out pretty good, but my skills at taking pics of layouts still suck!
So I went out with intentions of buying just one glimmer mist on friday night, but they had some on sale so I ended up buying four! So now I have 10! I have a serious glimmer mist addiction. I think it's so much fun to use and it looks really cool too. I think I'm going to have to find some more uses for it though. It's pretty messy, I usually end up with it all over my hands and it's still all over my keyboard!
We're going to (hoprefully) go see New Moon today, I hope it's good! I just love Jacob!

Vacation's Over

So dad left last night. It was a short visit, but we got a lot of sight seeing done. We went to Edmonton, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek and to a few museums. I'm glad vacation is over so that I can finally relax again!
I went to the Fire Escape this morning and painted a ceramic mug. I'm excited to see how it'll turn out, but I don't think it's going to look as cool as my dog treat jar. I guess I'll find out how it looks on Wednesday when I pick it up. When I got home from doing ceramics, Brad gave me an early Christmas present, a Slap Chop. LOL. He can never wait until Christmas to give me presents. We tested it out and it seemed a little hard to use, but I guess I'll have to try it again.
I've been getting a little bit of scrapbooking done this week. I went a little crazy with the glimmer mist, but I love to use it so much.

I'm not really sure of what the best way of posting pics on here is. I just took a pic of my layout and cropped it, but you can't really see the details that well. I'd use my scanner but it's too small. If anyone has any suggestions on how to post better pics, please let me know.
Anyways I'm not sure what else to post right now, I'm just trying to finish watching last week's episode of Dexter and then I'll probably go to bed. Not a very exciting Saturday night...

First post

So I guess this is my first post on my new blog. I'm not really sure what I'm going to write about on here, or even if it'll be interesting. I went out last night and bought a bunch of new scrapbooking stuff - rub ons, stickers, paper and some glimmer mist! I'm so excited about the glimmer mist. It looks so cool on layouts, kind of like spray paint or something. I tried it out as soon as I got home and now I have blue dots all over my keyboard! I guess I should have covered it up before I started. I did a layout last night of Maddie with the glimmer mist and I think it turned out great. I took some pictures to post on here, but I had to take them with my cell phone because I broke my camera in the summer. Cell phone pics don't have the greatest quality.

I'm so excited, I'm on vacation for a week now and dad is coming to visit me! But I guess I need to do a major house cleaning, I don't want dad to think I've been living like a slob!
